A gentle soul whose’s often seen in good spirits, Charity is happy to make acquaintance with those she meets, aiming to make even brief interactions pleasant. She is something of a social butterfly in that she enjoys socializing and engaging in good conversation, but she also doesn’t mind shifting back to quietly observe others or have them speak up. Nonetheless, Charity enjoys and thrives on good company, and values her close connections and relationships above most else.

Due to her abilities, Charity is highly empathetic and perceptive to others’ emotions. Even when she’s not actively reading them, she remains sensitive to emotional shifts, and can more readily follow certain cues that occur from a person’s positive or negative mood. Out of courtesy, she does her best not to peak into others’ emotions or to draw attention to them, well aware of how personal one’s emotional state of mind can be.

In addition to more positive interactions and relations, Charity tries to give most people the benefit of the doubt, given her empathetic nature. She’s exceedingly patient, almost to a fault, and she is not very easy to anger or upset, but increased emotional tension or negativity will make her wary and cautious. The same reaction occurs when she senses potential conflict, as she’d rather appeal or calm the other person before conceding to any type of conflict. If one is unavoidable or begins to escalate, she’ll sooner withdraw to give each side their space than to provoke it further.

Additionally, the shyness and mutism that were present when Charity was younger has faded with time, but the former tends to resurface when she finds herself in unfamiliar or uncomfortable situations, or when caught off guard. At its worse, she can become flustered enough to stop speaking aloud, reverting to telepathy if at all necessary. Usually, Charity is able to master herself enough to handle the given situation with as much grace as is required.

While it’s not in her nature to argue, persist, or force her opinions on others, Charity rarely feels inclined to suppress her thoughts or ideals regarding situations that she feels strongly about. The closer a person is to her, the more likely she’ll stand her ground to try helping them, or to make her point clear. Despite this, Charity remains compassionate and will relent if she realizes another is truly upset or hurt. Similarly, she is willing to help and support those whom she cares for, glad to advise or soothe them as best as she can.

Placeholder

  • [In Gijinka/PMA/Other AUs]: Can channel most attacks through her hands as a human, but can rely on solely her mind as well, though the latter wears her energy faster.
  • [In Gijinka/PMA/Other AUs]: Charity’s mutism is selective that proceeds through most of her childhood, though she eventually trains herself to speak aloud as an adult. Even then, she still values telepathy given the choice.
  • Charity often “speaks” in a polite, mannerly tone, even among those she’s familiar with, and has a tendency to display the manners and etiquette to match. She is, however, well aware of most casual vernacular and slang words as well, and won’t mind it from others if there’s no rude intent.
  • While sensitive to all emotions, strong negative emotions tend to wear her mentally, as well as affect her energy; she can tune them out to a degree, but sensing too much at a time can cause her to lose her focus, or experience fatigue or pain (often in the form of headaches).
  • The Soothe Bell that she wears was given to her as a Ralts to help her adjust to her team and surrounding; she no longer need it, but likes to wear it as she enjoys the calming chimes.
