Prior to dating, Sterling viewed Kudzu as a “nosy jerkass troll” — claiming to tolerate his teasing presence, while treating him as a nuisance. Sterling’s aggression towards Kudzu faded when she saw his more palatable nature, and she eventually formed a “reluctant” friendship with him. She was surprised, yet impressed, by Kudzu’s shared tastes in music, gossip, and pop culture.

It took a while for Sterling to come to terms with her attraction to Kudzu, due to her hesitance to admit it to herself. Once she finally did, they were able to confide their shared interest in each other — to Sterling’s pleasant surprise — and have since started seeing each other as more-than-friends.
