VALOR

VALOR GLADIAN

MAIN CHARACTER / POKEMON GIJINKA

Character Summary

NAME: Valor Gladian — “Valor”

SPECIES: Gallade Gijinka (Pokemon Verse)

GENDER: Male (he/him) || AGE: 25+ years || BIRTH DATE: May 15th || HEIGHT: 5′ 11″ (~180 cm)

IDENTITY: Demiromantic + Asexual

PERSONALITY: Serious | Competitive | Reserved | Observant | Skeptical | Critical | Reliable | Protective

The stoic leader of his trainer’s team, Valor has an independent and reserved demeanor. Though civil with others, he’s not one to openly express himself — in fact, he actively strives to keep his emotions in check, and displays a narrow range of visible expressions. Valor’s default responses are often straightforward, but he has a tendency to take things too seriously or with skepticism, and may react more harshly than he means.

Despite this, Valor tends to be more approachable and receptive to those who earn his liking, respect, and trust. He is not one to initiate affection, but there are subtle ways he may show his closeness with those he cares for — granted, any affection directed his way often surprises or catches him off guard. Valor also has an innately protective nature, and often looks out for those he would consider an ally or friend.

It takes a lot of effort to truly anger Valor, but he is known to have a fierce temper if provoked long enough. Because he is prone to react more aggressively when angered or threatened, he prefers not to lose his temper at all; even when irritated, he’ll attempt to tolerate the annoyance and remain patient. Nonetheless, Valor can hold deep grudges, and won’t easily forgive or trust those who have offended him in the past.

Outside of his responsibilities, Valor enjoys training and sparring — on his own, as well as with others. Valor also has a hidden competitive streak that shows during battles; he doesn’t hold back, and doesn’t like to lose or easily give up, but he appreciates a good challenge.

Valor holds the leadership role on T.C.’s team, and he takes that role very seriously. Since their time training together, he has developed a strong bond with his trainer, and is incredibly protective of her and his other teammates.

Acting as the serious “big brother” of the team, Valor looks out for everyone and helps T.C. keep everyone in line. Only main resistance is from Diana, who he has a long rivalry with since her joining the team, but he generally tolerates her and keeps her in check.

Valor is arguably T.C’s strongest pokemon and most intense fighter. He remains very focused during battle, and his strategy involves making every attack count by delivering heavy, critical hits to his opponents.

  • Wields a pair of combat blades that he uses for training and defense. He constantly keeps them sheathed on his person when on duty and during his travels.
  • When he needs to use his attacks as a human, he’ll use his blades for channeling his slashing attacks, and his hands for Drain Punch and Protect. Aside from Psycho Cut, Valor has limited control over his psychic abilities, which he was born with (Low Sp. Attack IVs); it remains to be a sore spot for him.
  • He has, however, developed fast reflexes, and retains a passive “homing” ability that improves his sense of direction and awareness of others’ presence.
  • Has very limited telepathic abilities; though he’s become decent with using the skill itself, he can only initiate a telepathic connection with other psychic types / others that can use telepathy.
